Randy Jordan Waldrum (born September 25, 1956 in Irving, Texas) is the head coach of the Houston Dash〔(Dash hire highly-acclaimed coach from Notre Dame to be their first head coach ), Notre Dame Athletics.〕 and previously had two title-winning seasons with the University of Notre Dame's women's soccer team.〔(Notre Dame Coach Profile: Randy Waldrum ), Notre Dame Athletics.〕 ==Coaching career== He started his coaching career at Austin College in 1982, leading the men's soccer team to a 4-12-1 record. In 1988, he was the head men's soccer coach at Texas Wesleyan University, and compiled a 6-10 record. From 1989 to 1994, he coached both the men's and women's soccer teams at the University of Tulsa. He posted a 66-33-6 record with the men, and a 61-36-9 record with the women. In 1996, he founded the Baylor University women's soccer program, and went 46-14-3 from 1996 to 1998. He has been the head women's soccer coach at the University of Notre Dame, where he has gone 279-50-16 in 14 seasons. Coach Waldrum has led the Notre Dame Women's Soccer team to two National Championships, in 2004 and 2010. The 2010 title game was his 300th match at Notre Dame. Waldrum was named as the first head coach for the NWSL expansion team the Houston Dash ahead of the 2014 season.
